The 9 Best Mosquito Nets for Bug-Free Adventures

While mosquito nets aren’t the most fun thing to shop for, this little barrier can make or break your trip, whether you’re car camping, on a river trip, or out for a day hike. I’ve used a variety of mosquito nets for the past decade of backcountry recreation, on everything from bug-infested sections of thru-hikes to open-air hammocking to international travel where the risk of mosquito-borne disease can be higher.

These nets (along with bug repellent where applicable) provide a crucial barrier against mosquitoes and other insects that can carry diseases at worst and whose bites lead to miserable itching at best. These mosquito nets are lightweight and portable for front-country and backcountry travel, making them easy to carry and deploy in various settings. You’ll sleep better and feel better, even if it might feel goofy to have a bug net hanging in front of your face.
