Already known for becoming the first woman to thru-hike the 5,600-mile Eastern Continental Trail (ECT), Lolo “Sparkle” Veloz has her sights set even higher in 2026.

This year, she aims to become the second woman ever to hike the mammoth Border-to-Border Calendar Year Triple Crown (B2B CYTC), a feat achieved for the first time last year by Madison “Peg Leg” Blagden. That trek spans roughly 8,600 miles, but Sparkle hopes to total more than 10,000 miles this year, breaking Peg Leg’s record for the most miles hiked by a woman in one calendar year.
