Experience:

Kaitlin Gates has been a writer for seven years, covering everything from celebrity news to deals, recalls, health, science, food, and more. She has a particular interest in shopping and helping readers save money (and time!) by finding deals.

While most people spend Black Friday morning sleeping in after eating too much turkey, Kaitlin has happily spent every Black Friday since 2017 waking up before the sun to find the best deals so readers can save money and spend more time with their families. Not only is it her favorite way to spend the morning, but she doesn't need any post-turkey sleep anyway — she's a vegetarian.

A lover of all things Halloween and fall, Kaitlin has also been the go-to writer for Halloween content, covering deals and shopping guides for costumes, decorations, and food.

Education:

Kaitlin has a bachelor's degree in journalism and psychology from the University of Michigan-Flint. She was the recipient of two journalism scholarships and the editor-in-chief of the campus newspaper.
